What is "Muses of the World"?

Muses of the World is a project by artist Curphills. Participants are invited to upload a picture of their body through a secure Dropbox link. There are no set poses; creativity is encouraged. Everything from standard to "sexual" poses is welcome.

Curphills will select and draw a variety of poses and individuals.

The submission form is at the end of this page.

What is the goal of the project?

Nudity is often immediately associated with sexuality. With my simple artistic style, I aim to capture various bodies and include them in an art project. The goal is to draw diverse bodies in different poses over the years and then present them in an exhibition.

As a young man, I have certainly sexualized bodies. It has been a process for me to separate nudity from sexuality. Through my art, I am continually confronted with how nudity and sex are portrayed and what constitutes the "norm" for bodies. I have noticed how the body that conforms to societal beauty ideals is predominantly represented.

The goal is to document the diversity of the human body and create a space for discussion.

Is nudity inherently sexual?
If so, at what point?
Are different poses and suggestions interpreted individually?

What happens if I get drawn?
